E-Safety

At Kite Ridge School technology and the Internet is used extensively across all areas of the curriculum, always in accordance with the students’ individual abilities. Online safeguarding, known as e-safety, is an area that is constantly evolving and responsibility for training students and staff in this area is devolved to a member of the teaching staff team. They ensure the whole school community is given the knowledge to stay safe and risk free and also that any known risks are identified, assessed and mitigated as far as is possible.

E-Safety is delivered to students at Kite Ridge School through discrete lessons, assemblies and group discussions as well as embedded in our ICT sessions. There are several different aspects to this, including staying safe on-line, our digital footprint, cyberbullying, understanding illegal internet activities and the consequences of these, using reliable sites for research, and buying real items, services, games and films safely. This includes the use of smartphones, apps and social media sites.
